Chocolate Improves Workouts

Do you ever feel that you’d benefit from a little energy boost before a workout?Reconsider that afternoon or pre-workout coffee!

The seeds of a Cacao tree are powerful in nutrients but they are also powerful as a stimulant.

The active alkaloid found within the seeds is a stimulant known as theobromine.

Although theobromine itself does not contain caffeine, it’s resultant stimulation of the heart and nervous system has similar effects to those of caffeine.

The levels of theobromine in dark chocolate stimulates the nervous and cardiac systems making it a great pre-training snack.

Also the levels of phenylethylamine acts as an antidepressant making your workouts and nutrition so much sweeter.

Theobromine is unlikely to keep you awake at night as the amount of caffeine is very small compared to that found in coffee.

To hit these levels of stimulation look for a more pure form found in 70% dark chocolate... get the hit without the bitterness!

Make dark chocolate your next pre-training snack to take your energy and cardio to the next level.

Deepen Flavours & Improve Nutrients

Spaghetti Bolognese & Chili Con Carne recipes
Spaghetti Bolognese & Chili Con Carne flavours are enhanced by dark chocolate

Most the time chocolate is thought of as a sweet snack but it is the sugar that makes chocolate sweeter.

The bean itself is bitter, so the more pure the chocolate, the more bitter the taste.

This is why I choose 70% dark chocolate for that beautiful mix of slightly sweet but not too bitter taste.

Dark chocolate is similar to fine wine, it has an amazingly complex flavour and deep aromas.

Chocolate can act as an emulsifier, adding a natural thickness to sauces.

It wonderfully compliments saucy beef and chili dishes to enhances the other flavours.

For this reason it is a favourite in many of my deep flavoured Italian and Mexican dishes.
